'People are fearful' - why 'unstoppable force' Arsenal have become the side to defeat.

There's no doubt why Arsenal stand as countless pundits' favorites to win the Premier League during this term.

Consider their results against Newcastle and Crystal Palace in contrast with those same matches last season.

The Gunners have beaten all of them during this campaign, but lost 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race last season.

Impenetrable Backline

Arsenal's backline resilience is a key reason why they are seeming ready to ultimately achieve their title ambition.

They rank top for unbreached games (6), goals conceded (3), shots faced (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the best in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Excellence

Their danger from dead balls is well known, but competing clubs still don't know how to stop the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have notched 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals originating from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a intimidation presence. People are just fearful of them and it is wonderful to see."

Title Claims

What is even more impressive about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City at home - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their traditional rivals face difficulties. This marks the initial occasion at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on manager Mikel Arteta at the outset, having spent around £250m on eight summer signings in quest of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far proven successful in impressive fashion, with his side second top scorers in the league and boasting the most resilient defense, despite multiple injuries.

  • Clean sheets in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Over six hours without allowing a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and pundits have described Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now performing with conviction and resolve.
